Closing Date for NSFAS Applications 2024-2025: The online application for the 2024-2025 academic year with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is set to commence on November 2 and will conclude on January 21, 2024. All prospective applicants interested in applying for NSFAS should visit the NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za. It’s important to note that there will be no extension for late applications for NSFAS Funding in 2024. Therefore, applicants are strongly advised to submit their online applications in a timely manner before the specified deadline.

Who Qualifies for NSFAS Bursary?

All South African citizens
All SASSA grant recipients are eligible for funding
Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum
Individuals with a disability, where the combined household income must not be more than R600,000 per annum
Students who commenced their studies prior to 2018, with a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum.

Required Supporting Documents During the Application Process:

Provide your personal cellphone number and email address
Ensure you have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
Include national ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse
Submit evidence of your income or your 1-year IRP5 if required
Provide proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
If you are a SASSA grant recipient, there is no need to provide income evidence.
All applicants with a disability should complete and submit a signed Disability Annexure A Form.
An applicant recognized as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also complete and submit a signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
