Due Date For Nsfas Application 2024-2025: Opening dates for NSFAS application for the 2024-2025 academic year have been said by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). applicants that are interested in funding at various South African institutions both Universities and TVET Colleges shoul start applying from 1st November 2023 to 21 January 2024 (note that there has been an extension from 7 January 2024 to 21 January 2024) with the Closing dates for each semester varying as stated below. It is (ie Application period ) usually made to span a 60-day period. Ensure you complete your application fully within the period to prevent application rejection.
ANNUAL, FIRST SEMESTER & FIRST TRIMESTER REGISTRATIONS
- The closing date for submitting applications and all completed supporting documents for students who are already studying at a university or Tvet college, but who are applying for NSFAS financial aid for the first time, is 15 December for the following academic year. The closing date for learners to submit applications with all completed supporting documents is 10 January of the academic year for which they are registering.
SECOND TRIMESTER AND THIRD TRIMESTER REGISTRATIONS:
- For new applicants who want to apply for financial aid before the second-semester registration, the closing date for submitting applications and all completed supporting documents is 15 June. The closing date for applications and supporting documents for new applicants for financial aid second-trimester registrations are 31 March and for third-trimester registrations is 31 July.
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS
- Provide your own cellphone number and email address
- You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
- National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
- The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
- The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
- If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
- All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- An applicant who is known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application when opened
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
How to Check NSFAS Application Status
In order to check NSFAS Application Status, you must follow the simple steps below:
- Visit NSFAS Status website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, log in to myNSFAS account, if you don’t have one, create one. Click HERE
- Enter your User ID
- Type in the password you created during the application process.
- Click “Track Funding Progress” to check your NSFAS Application Status.
