- Documentation and record-keeping: Endoscopy nurses are responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed records of the procedure and the patient’s condition, including vital signs, medications administered, and any complications or adverse reactions.
To become an endoscopy nurse, you must first complete a nursing degree program and become a registered nurse (RN). Some employers may require additional training or certification in endoscopy nursing, such as the Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) credential offered by the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses.
