Flavius Mareka TVET College was founded in 2000 by the merger of Sasolburg Technical College, Kroonstad Technical College, and Mphohadi College of Education. Mr. Flavius Mareka, a prominent figure in political, cultural, and academic circles, inspired the college’s name. He was born in Kroonstad and died in 1965.
Flavius Mareka TVET College is one of 50 public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges in South Africa that are overseen by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The College, which focuses on critical skills development, is one of the nation’s largest technical and vocational education and training service providers.
Flavius Mareka TVET College has three campuses. On the Sasolburg campus, there are two locations dedicated to engineering studies and business studies, respectively. The Mphohadi campus, as well as the other two campuses, are located in the Kroonstad neighborhood.
Flavius Mareka TVET College takes pride in providing education and training to communities as well as full-time and part-time formal programs at its three campuses. Smaller towns like Heilbron, Parys, Koppies, and Villiers offer a variety of leadership and skills programs throughout the province of Free State.
