  • Academic Performance: Achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. GPAs below 3.0 will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require additional documents, as outlined in a section below.
  • Program Start: At the beginning of the program, the applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior. UCT (University of Cape Town) applicants must have completed at least three semesters of school (first-semester sophomores can apply). It’s important to note that students in their sophomore year may face restrictions on enrolling in certain courses at a local university. Criteria for admission to the University of Limpopo:

1.1 Bachelors who do not possess a National Senior Certificate are exempt (NSC)

Prospective NSC students must meet the following requirements in order to be accepted into any undergraduate program offered by the University of Limpopo:

  • At least three levels of achievement in life orientation (3).
  • English as a language of learning and teaching with a proficiency level of at least three is required per the university’s language policy (3).
  • Minimum standards of performance in particular subjects as listed in the calendar for each faculty provided that:
  • Four 20-credit subjects with a minimum NSC achievement level of four were finished for degree programs (4).
  • Four 20-credit subjects with a minimum NSC achievement level of three were completed for diploma programs (3).
  • Each Faculty’s Calendar lists the necessary Admission Point Score (APS).

Deposits should be made to the University of Limpopo, Standard Bank Account No. 030131405, using the applicant’s ID or passport number as a reference.
