The following deadlines are important for applicants to remember:

The deadline for WITS Admission Registration 2024/2025 is set for September 2024.
All Health Sciences programs, Architecture, Audiology, Film and Television, and Speech-Language Pathology have a June 2024 deadline for undergraduate applicants.
On the same day, the University of the Witwatersrand application portal is anticipated to close.

STEP 1 – Fill out an online application

Visit www.wits.ac.za/applications/ to submit an online application.
You may apply for up to three degrees (the order of choice does not matter).
If you want to apply to two programs in the same faculty, it is recommended that you apply to one program in a less restrictive faculty (e.g. Humanities, Commerce, or Science).
Especially if you’re applying to programs at institutions like the faculties of engineering or health sciences, keep your options open.
For South African nationals and R700 for international candidates, an application fee is necessary.
Additional Forms Is a different process used to choose your degree program? A portfolio, an essay, an audition, or the National Benchmark Test may also be required for some degrees. Please review the Additional Forms section below to determine if this applies to you.

STEP 2 – Registration Acknowledgement

You will receive an email from the university confirming receipt of your application.
In the email acknowledging receipt, a personal number will be provided (which will become your student number).
All correspondence from the university will be available on the student self-service website, which can be reached at https://self-service.wits.ac.za.

Wits Plus Online Registration

Please register in accordance with your student category (new first-year student, returning undergraduate student, or postgraduate student).
Please verify the dates for online enrollment for your faculty.

Registration Assistance / On-Campus

In February 2024, Sturrock Park (Wits Sports Admin), Braamfontein West Campus will offer supported registration assistance to students who are unable to register online or who have specific curriculum requirements.
Please keep in mind that if you don’t register by these dates, the offer of a spot may be withdrawn. These dates are the deadlines for both online and assisted registration. Students who register after the cutoff date cannot be guaranteed a place at the university. Please contact Wits Plus if you have any questions.
