The FET Colleges Act no. 16 of 2006, as amended, governs the Ekurhuleni West Technical, Vocational, Education and Training College (EWC), a public institution. It was created in accordance with the Further Education and Training Act, Act No. 98 of 1998, as stated by the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education (Gauteng Province) in an Extraordinary Provincial Gazette (dated 7 December 2001).

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, in the South African province of Gauteng, is home to the Ekurhuleni West TVET College. EWC operates in diverse and broadband communities and has six (6) campuses:

• Alberton
• Boksburg
• Germiston
• Kathorus, (in Katlehong/ Vosloorus/ Thokoza)
• Kempton (in Kempton Park)
• Tembisa.

When was the online application due?

• Applications are accepted at Ekurhuleni West College (EWC) from September 1 to November 30. Remember, the application deadline is subject to change at any time without prior notification. Always confirm with the school administration.

You need to send the following paperwork to Ekurhuleni West TVET College in order to apply:

• an email address that is valid and distinct, as well as a phone number
• each parent’s or guardian’s identification in three official duplicates
• Three certified copies of learners’ identification are needed for those from South Africa.
• All international applicants must provide their passport numbers.
• a photocopy of your academic transcript (eg Senior Certificate)
• A certified copy of your most recent test results and evidence of residency (Grade 9 or higher).
• attestation of health insurance or coverage from other nations that SAQA has approved
• In good standing with a study permit
