  • The old Centane Technical College, Teko Technical College, H.B. Tsengwa Technical College, and Idutywa Satellite, formerly known as Idutywa Community College, merged to form the King Hintsa TVET College.
    This King Hintsa TVET College is located in the Eastern Cape’s South Eastern Region. The Central Administration Office in Butterworth is located on N2 Mthatha Road, near WSU (Butterworth campus).
    The college has two campuses in Mnquma Local Municipality and is spread across two municipal boundaries (Centane, Teko, and Admin Center). Mbashe Local Municipality is home to the Dutywa and HB Tsengwa campuses.
  • The distance between adjacent college campuses is 60 kilometers. At various campuses, the college offers NC (V), Report 191, and Skills Development programs.
    The King Hintsa TVET College is well-known for training project-linked trainees, out-of-school youth, and adults, ranging from those with poor academic backgrounds to those who have had opportunities to improve their education.

Report191 Engineering

Duration:

  • 11 weeks per N-level

Report191 Engineering Applicants Requirements for admission:

  • a national certificate in engineering studies, level N3;
  • A Senior Certificate with at least three training offers that are relevant to the education offer chosen by the program candidate;
  • An equal qualification
  • Only after successfully completing the previous level, from N4 to N5, and so on, can you proceed to the next step.
  • For a National Diploma, students must complete 18 months of relevant practical experience.

Duration:

6 months per N-level

Admission requirements:

  • NSC / N3 / Grade 12 for N4
  • N4 for N5
  • a suitable National Certificate N3 Engineering Studies for N5; or

General:

  • Each course lasts six months (January to June or July to November). Each course necessitates enrollment in four different topics.
  • Those who completed Introductory N4, N4, N5, and N6 will be awarded a certificate in the relevant field of study.
  • To be eligible for a National Diploma, students must gain and complete 18 months of relevant practical experience.

The King Hintsa Online Application Process

Step 1.

  • Choose the course you want to take; career counseling is available.
  • Fill out the application form, which is available at the Admin Center, on all of our campuses, online here, and by mail or email upon request.

Step 2.

  • Pay a non-refundable application fee (details on the application form). Check that you meet the minimum requirements before applying.

Step 3.

  • To the campus where you want to enroll, send the application, a certified copy of your ID, a copy of your most recent school report card, a copy of the parent or guardian’s ID, and payment documentation.

Step 4.

  • Foreign applicants must verify their credentials with SAQA before applying; if this is not done, no foreign students will be admitted.

Step 5.

  • Following the submission of your application, the institution will notify you if you have been accepted and will require you to take a placement test before beginning classes.
