- The Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) Authority has made available the Admission Application Requirement for undergraduate and postgraduate prospective candidates seeking admission to the institution for the 2024 academic year. These requirements are for various programs available at the institution, and they serve as a guide in the application process. Before submitting an application, all interested applicants must carefully read the requirements and ensure that they meet them.
2024-2025 MUT application requirements
- To complete the application, you must have an email address.
- South African applicants will require an identification number. Foreign applicants will be required to provide their passport numbers.
- You must pay the application fee after receiving your student number from MUT.
- Check that your documents are scanned in accordance with the guidelines.
- You will be admitted to MUT if you meet the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
- If you do not meet these requirements, you should consider alternative qualifications or, if you qualify, an extended program that allows you to register for limited modules in your first year.
- Students who graduated from the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) School of Tomorrow in Grade 12 may no longer be accepted at MUT.
- Some MUT qualifications have a limited number of available seats. Meeting the general and/or specific admission requirements for a qualification does not guarantee you a place for the 2022 academic year.
Admission Prerequisites
- Each faculty establishes admission requirements based on the sum of the points earned from the best five subjects presented by the prospective student. In addition to the points system, some departments require an entrance exam. Due to limited space, not all applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be accepted. The best-qualified applicants and those who chose MUT as their first or second choice are given priority in the selection process.
Minimum Admission Requirements
- National Senior Certificate with a diploma pass or N3 with a 50% pass in Mathematics and English A minimum of 5 subjects with a level 4 pass for diploma studies and a level 3 pass for Access Courses
- English as a first language or as a second language, level 4 pass
- The qualification requires a specific subject combination and pass level.
- Minimum points required by faculty and listed in the CAO handbook
