Registration dates
  • February 14-25, 203 From February 14 to February 18, 2023, new students/first-time students will be registered. From 21 to 25 February 2023, all returning students will be registered.

Registration Fee

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE MUT BANK ACCOUNT PROVIDED BELOW. NO PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE TO ANYONE CLAIMING TO REPRESENT THE INSTITUTION.
  • No applicant or student will be able to register unless a minimum of R1650 for semester students or R2750 for annual students registration deposit is paid.
  • If you are an NSFAS beneficiary, you are not required to pay the deposit. However, you will receive an SMS notification before the registration deadline informing you that you can register.

Documents required for registration at Mangosuthu University of Technology

The application fee (for new students only) and class fees are due at the time of registration.

All new applications must include the following:

  • Certified copy of most recent school report/results statement/Grade 12 or N3 certificate
  • Six certified copies of the Learner’s ID.
  • Two certified copies of Parent/ID. Guardian’s
  • One photo of Learner in ID size.

Online MUT Registration 2024-2025

  • STEP 1: Go to www.mut.ac.za
  • STEP 2:  Click on the Student portal
  • STEP 3: Click on STUDENT iENABLER
  • STEP 4: Click on Student
  • STEP 5: In the student number field, enter your student number.
  • STEP 6: Enter the current pin or the default pin (46579) if you haven’t changed it.
  • STEP 7: Select the Login option.
  • STEP 8: After logging in, go to the left-hand side of the screen and click on Registration.
  • STEP 9: Select RULES AND REGULATIONS.
  • STEP 10: Scroll down to the I Accept button.
  • STEP 11: On the left-hand side of the screen, click Submit Registration.
  • STEP 12: Select the UNEMPLOYED option under Your Employment Status.
  • STEP 13: Select Save and Continue.
  • STEP 14: A list of subjects for which you are eligible to register will appear. By clicking on the checkboxes next to each subject, you can select all of them.
  • STEP 15: Select the Save and Continue option.
  • STEP 16: Press the Continue button.
  • STEP 17: Select the Accept Registration option. The registration process is now complete.
  • STEP 18: After completing registration, click on Proof of registration on the left-hand side of the screen.
  • STEP 19: Print out your registration status.
  • STEP 20: Your student card is activated on campus.

Please keep in mind that you must complete Steps 1-20 before you can be fully registered as a MUT student.

How will MUT notify applicants if their applications are successful?

  • MUT will notify all successful applicants via SMS. In this SMS, an applicant will be assigned a student number, as well as the Qualification Code for which he or she has been accepted and the date on which the applicant should register.
  • This SMS will also include a link that will take students to a document that will walk them through the process of paying, registering, applying, and registering for residence.
  • PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WALK-IN APPLICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTED OR CONSIDERED BY MUT. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST GO THROUGH THE CAO.
