My NSFAS My Account 2024-2025
NSFAS, a government student financial aid scheme, provides assistance to impoverished undergraduate students in South Africa to cover their tertiary education expenses. To receive monthly funds, creating a MyNSFAS account is necessary. The process is straightforward; first, check eligibility and gather required documents.
Who Qualifies For NSFAS Funding?
- All South African citizens
- SASSA grant recipients
- Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 p.a.
- Persons with a disability: Combined household income must not exceed R600,000 p.a.
- Students who started studying before 2018 with a household income not exceeding R122,000 p.a.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS NEEDED WHEN CREATING MY NSFAS ACCOUNT
- Cellphone number and email address
- Copy of ID or birth certificate
- National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
- Evidence of income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
- Proof of income of parents, guardian, or spouse
- SASSA grant recipients exempt from providing income evidence
- Applicants with a disability should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form for those recognized as Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development
How To Create MyNSFAS Account
- Register online on myNSFAS or re-register a myNSFAS account.
- Visit www.nsfas.org.za.
- Click on the “MyNSFAS” tab.
- Click on “Register.”
- Allow NSFAS to verify details.
- Enter ID number, full names, surname, email address, cellphone number, and create/confirm password.
- Upload ID copy.
- Click “Register.”
- An OTP will be sent to the provided email and cell number (expires after 24 hours).
- Enter OTP and click “Submit.”
How To Check Your MyNSFAS Account Status
- Use MyNSFAS Email and password.
- Visit www.nsfas.org.za.
- Enter Email and Password.
- Click “Sign-In” to access application status.
