The information on this page pertains to the online application dates for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University for the academic year 2024-2025.

Applications Close:

Application deadline for MBChB: June 31. (NBT results must be available on or before the 31st of July ).
Early applications (excluding MBChB) are due on August 5.
Late applications (excluding MBChB) are due on September 30th.
International student applications (excluding MBChB) are due on September 30th.
Student Housing applications are due on September 30th.

Procedure for Applying to NMU
You can apply through one of the channels listed below:

Online applications are accepted for Undergraduate, Advanced Diploma, and Postgraduate studies (PG Diploma, PG Certificate, Honours, Master’s, or Doctoral Degrees).
Postgraduate candidates must also complete the Postgraduate form (U24) For more information on postgraduate programs, please see the General Information and Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes.
Check that you have paid the Application Fee before submitting your application form (for international students only).
The following documents must be submitted with your application form:
a certified copy of your final Grade 11 exam results or a most recent Grade 12 (June/Sept) exam report (No March results), or if you have already passed Grade 12, a certified copy of your matriculation certificate, or results, as well as certified copies of diploma/degree certificates and academic records for postgraduate applications, a certified copy of your ID/Passport, a certified copy of your paternal grandfather’s identity document, a certified copy of your paternal grandfather’s identity document
You will receive an acknowledgment letter or the outcome of your admission within 10 working days during the months of April and June. During the period preceding the above-mentioned closing dates, the turnaround time will be 14 – 20 working days.
If your Applicant Score (AS) and subject-specific marks do not meet the entry requirements for your chosen program, you will need to consider another qualification because we no longer test applicants for admission, unless otherwise indicated.
