Nsfas Funding Dates 2024-2025
NSFAS Funding Schedule 2024-2025: The disbursement of NSFAS allowances is typically a step-by-step process. Each year, once funding is approved for students, NSFAS initiates the allowance crediting process to successful applicants’ myNSFAS accounts during the first week of every month. If you haven’t received your payment yet, please continue to monitor your account, as the funds will eventually be deposited into your NSFAS wallet.
What the Bursary covers
University Students
- Tuition Fees
- Accommodation As per the actual costs charged by the university (costs for private accommodation must not exceed costs for university residence)
- Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7 500 per year
- Living allowance of R15,000 per year
- Book allowances R5200 per year
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per year for students in catered residences
TVET College Students
- Tuition Fees
- Accommodation
- Urban area R24,000 per year
- Peri-urban area R18,900 per year
- Rural area R15,750 per year
- Transport
- up to 40 km from the institution R7,350 per year
- R7000 per year
- Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per year
NSFAS will also provide assistive devices & human support for applicants with disabilities.
How to View/Check My Nsfas Online Application Status
All successful applicants will be notified of their status by NSFAS through an SMS, an email, and your myNSFAS account once the decision-making process is completed.
To check your NSFAS application status:
- Log into your myNSFAS account portal.
- Enter your ID or username and password.
- Click the SIGN IN! button.
- Once you log into your account dashboard, click on Track Funding Progress to check your application status.
- Suppose your application has been successful, Congrats! If not, better luck next time.
