UWC Fees And Financial Aid

• The University of the Western Cape (UWC) offers opportunities to students who are both academically qualified and financially disadvantaged in recognition of its responsibility in facilitating access to higher education. These kids are typically chosen from underprivileged schools where they struggle with resources and adversity but are determined to succeed.
• Our division is housed in a Central Office that is in charge of managing student funding for the entire university. To help financially disadvantaged students, the Central Office works closely with faculties and departments throughout the entire institution.
• The Department of Student Funding oversees the administration of NSFAS funds as well as bursaries and scholarships. As a result, we are able to inform students about NSFAS funding, bursary sponsors, and scholarship possibilities where appropriate.
• On the UWC main campus, the Financial Aid Office is hidden behind the administrative building (Prefabs), where financial aid advisors assist students.
• Students who require assistance with funding should speak with their financial aid advisors, who will be happy to provide them with the necessary information.
• Student Funding also acts as a link between donors and students who are in need of financial assistance and who merit it academically. Financial Aid Advisors work closely with the donors assigned to each of them and are the donors’ main point of contact. The Central Office also collaborates closely with the private, public, and non-profit sectors to warmly welcome and onboard any fresh sponsors eager to help UWC students. We value those who generously support University of the Western Cape students because they are very important to our students.

• All deserving students, especially those from historically underprivileged backgrounds, are given access, to financial support, and consulting services by the financial aid office.
• The Financial Aid Office strives to foster a culture that is focused on the needs of the students while also acting as good stewards of all financial aid funds. Using technology to speed up financial aid procedures, we are working to distinguish ourselves from peer institutions as a leader in financial aid services. We also plan ahead for challenges brought on by changing federal, state, institutional, and private funding rules as well as shifting economic conditions. While respecting the needs, values, and diversity of our students, parents, and colleagues, we work to set an example of communication and teamwork for the entire campus.
• We want to make sure that everything runs smoothly so that students can concentrate on their studies and that institutional resources are used wisely.
