The only educational institution in South Africa that grants a part-time Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree is UKZN.
For those who are unable to attend classes during working hours, the School of Law’s part-time LLB degree program is available through the Centre for Extended Legal Studies (CELS) at its Howard College and Pietermaritzburg campuses.
Utilizing the university’s online learning platform and tools like Zoom, the program is delivered through online learning. The program lasts for 12 semesters over a period of six years.
The Admission Criteria:
- If the applicant has an NSC-Degree (i.e., Matric), we will require the following: A minimum APS of 32, excluding Life Orientation; English (Home Language) at Level 5, or English (First Additional Language) at Level 6; Maths at Level 3 or Mathematical Literacy at Level 5; Endorsement on the applicant’s Matriculation Certificate; and University Exemption.
- If you possess one or more recognized tertiary degrees, your application will be considered largely in light of these degrees, taking into account their level, nature, and any other pertinent factors.
- In the right circumstances, relevant work experience may also be taken into account.
