One of South Africa’s few research-focused universities, Rhodes is also the only one not to be situated in a big city. Service-learning is a common component of undergraduate courses, where students use their education to engage with their communities through a variety of projects. The degree to which students learn has a lot to do with this position.

Student fees (estimate)

Eligibility for Rhodes Online in 2024-2025 is required.

a certified copy of your O/A Levels, National Senior/Matric Certificate, or other pertinent school-leaving credentials. a certified copy of your passport or ID.
If you are an international applicant, you must submit official documentation from Universities in South Africa (previously known as HESA) demonstrating your qualification for enrollment in degree programs at South African universities. The undergraduate prospectus includes more details.
certified copies of your academic transcript, conduct certificate, and degree certificate if you attended any other universities.
Foreign applicants from non-English speaking nations must provide evidence of their English language proficiency.
Evaluations from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) are required if the prior qualification(s) was/were obtained at a foreign university (outside South Africa).
A research proposal or the proposed title of your dissertation or thesis should be included if you’re applying for a master’s or doctoral degree.
If you are a prospective international student, you must have a valid study permit.
