- Anyone who satisfies the requirements can start applying online for admission to Rhodes University (RU) starting in April for the 2024–2025 academic year. Before the application deadline for the class of 2024, all prospective students who are interested in attending Rhodes University (RU) are encouraged to submit an online application. Through our online application system, prospective students can submit an application to study at the university.
Entry requirements
- If you meet both the eligibility requirements for Bachelor’s degree study AND the faculty requirements, your application will only be taken into consideration for admission to the university. Students must successfully complete seven subjects in order to receive a Bachelor’s pass status, four of which are required (two languages, Life Orientation, and either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy), and three of which they can choose from the school’s available choices.
In order to graduate from Rhodes University, you must earn the following grades: - English language proficiency with a score of 4 (50–59%) or higher.
- The list of recommended subjects is provided below, and at least four of the seven subjects must be chosen from it.
- Additionally, students must have an achievement rating of at least 4. (50 to 59 percent).
Online enrollment for Rhodes
- Visit https://ross.ru.ac.za to create an account for the system using your email address and a password.
- A link to activate your account will then be sent to you via email.
- To activate your registration, click the link.
- Thus, when you come back to ROSS, you must choose the Admission/Other buttons (clicking the right button here is important)
- Then, you can log in using the username and password you made in step one.
- Following the completion of your application, click the button to indicate that you concur with the terms and conditions.

After submitting your application, you must pay the R100 application fee. The system offers a variety of choices.

If you use a deposit slip from your bank to pay your application fee, be sure to email us the slip with your application number as the subject line.
Once you have finished the aforementioned procedures, your application will be processed, and you will then be given a student number and login.
