If your circumstances have changed after you first applied for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, you should reconsider. Here’s how you do it.

When applying for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) award from the South African Social Security Agency, it is critical that the applicant provides accurate information (Sassa).

All current SRD grant applications or reapplications submitted since April 2022 will be taken into consideration by Sassa for each month up until March 2023, when the grant is scheduled to expire.

Beneficiaries are advised to keep their personal information updated on their applications, especially if their circumstances have changed.

  • How To Update Your Grant Application, Please
  • Go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za/ to access the Sassa website.
  • To update your grant application, scroll down.
  • Click “click here to update your existing application” after that.
  • Put in both your ID number and your cellphone number.
  • the “send SMS” button
  • Once you’ve logged into your application using an OTP, follow the on-screen directions to change your information.

Beneficiaries can amend their screening questionnaire replies at any time if their circumstances have changed or if they need to correct any mistakes on the Sassa website.

Sassa has stressed the necessity of applicants updating their information because failure to do so will prevent the Agency from processing the applicant’s application.

Sassa advises that you file an appeal for each month that your application was turned down if it was rejected based on the information provided in your original application.

It is suggested that the appeal be filed within 90 days of learning that your application has been “rejected.” The application will then be reviewed again, and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their appeal.
