  • Maluti TVET College is a Technical Vocational Education and Training institution in the Free State province of South Africa. On September 1, 2002, the College was formed by the merger of two former Colleges of Education and three former Technical Colleges in South Africa’s Free State region. The College focuses on creating a culture of excellence, creativity, and achievement that encourages entrepreneurship and employability in order to change people’s lives. Maluti TVET College operates seven satellite campuses in addition to its main campus.
  • Public TVET Colleges’ specific goal is to alleviate South Africa’s skills shortages by providing appropriate and responsive vocational and occupational programs.

Admission Requirements

  • At the end of the school year, a school report for Grade 9 or above NQF Level 1 Qualification (STD 7/Form 2/ABET 4).
  • Priority will be given to students in grades 11 and 12.
  • The placement test is required for the College to refer a learner to the correct program.
  • Learners with Agricultural Science as a subject in Grade 9 or higher will be given preference.
  • Learners who wish to enroll in Physical Science, an elective course, must achieve the following pass percentages in both Mathematics and Physical Science:
    • Grade 9 – 65% (AL4)
    • Grade 11 – 60 (AL3)
    • Grade 10 – 50 % (AL2)
    • Grade 12 – 40% (AL2)

Each level requires the following subjects:

  • English 1st Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Life Orientation

Students’ documents are required.

  • Before applying to any Maluti TVET College campus to study or obtain a skilled trade, a number of prerequisites must be met.
  • You should have a high school diploma.
  • Applicants under the age of sixteen are not eligible.
  • It should be noted that more advanced courses may require higher certification: engineering and higher-level disciplines necessitate a higher level of knowledge.
  • As part of the application process, most TVET colleges require you to take an admission exam. This allows the college to assess each student’s numeracy and reading skills.
  • In order to be considered, the applicant may be required to go through an interview process.
