Requirements
  • Admission to ENGAGE in the School of Engineering will be based on NSC results, achievement levels of 5 in Mathematics and Physical Sciences, and an achievement level of 5 in English, as well as an APS of 30. Students may apply directly for consideration for the ENGAGE program.

Program: MEng Software Engineering

Information about the program

  • Unless the Dean decides otherwise on the proposal of the relevant head of the department, the master’s degree is given on the basis of coursework examinations and a mini-dissertation or dissertation (including an examination on the dissertation).
    To get the MEng degree, a minimum of 128 credits are necessary. The curriculum includes either a mini-dissertation (64 credits) plus coursework (64 credits) (for all coursework master’s degrees) or a dissertation (128 credits) (for all research master’s degrees).
  • Credits earned while studying for the BEngHons or BScHons are not recognized.
    The curriculum is developed in collaboration with the relevant department head. Any individual module is only available if a certain number of students enroll for it, as established by the relevant head of the department and the Dean. Students must consult the relevant head of the department in order to create a meaningful program and for information on module syllabi. Consult the numerous departmental postgraduate brochures as well.
