TVET colleges are committed to providing students with high-quality education and training so that they can begin their professions with the necessary skills and capabilities. Learners develop important life skills that prepare them to face the many demands of the working world, which is more than simply a paper diploma. Tvet institutions are also collaborating closely with industry players and stakeholders to deliver tailored training programs to satisfy the demands of experienced, talented, and qualified individuals.

Stigma with Tvet Colleges

Using the comparative analytical methodology, the study discovered: a lack of curriculum in TVET programs; logistical challenges due to insufficient funding; a poor linkage of TVET to industry; an unfair trend of inappropriate categorization of graduates on the job; and a continuous chain of leadership crises.

TVET colleges mostly provide two courses:

National Certificate (Vocational) qualifications, commonly known as “Report 191” programs, and National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programs.

To apply to Tvet Colleges, the following documents are required:

  • A distinct/valid email address and phone number
  • 3 certified copies of the Parent/Legal Guardian’s ID
  • Learner South African applicants will need three certified copies of their ID. Foreign applicants will be required to provide their passport numbers.
  • a copy of your academic credentials (eg Senior Certificate)
  • Proof of residence; a certified copy of your most recent results/Grade 9 or higher.

Foreign students

  • Certified copies of passport
  • SAQA approved foreign qualifications
  • Proof of medical insurance or cover
  • Valid study permit

How to Apply

  • Download the application form from the college’s website.
  • Fill every available space
  • Choose a course that corresponds to your qualifications.
  • Provide all necessary documentation, such as a valid ID, certified results, or a certificate.
  • Provide identification of parents and/or guardians, as well as a death certificate, if appropriate.
  • Where applicable, international students must present their passport ID.
