This curriculum provides instruction in both lecture rooms and hands-on studio conditions on the CAE campus, which has professional studios and live sound facilities. Visits to various recording studios and live sound venues will be part of your CAE Institute learning experience.
This Diploma program covers a wide range of audio disciplines, providing the learner with all of the information and practical experience needed to be an asset in any audio sector, whether it is national or international. Students will also be exposed to recording their own albums and receive insight and expertise on how to build up their own recording studio during the program.

- -An application fee is needed of all applicants ( The application fee is stated on the application form)
- -The candidate must have a current email account (an application without an email account will not be admitted).
- -Before applying, the applicant should ensure that he meets the prerequisites for the course.
- -All applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid ID.
- -Applicants must present original or verified copies of their findings or qualifications.
- -Parents’ or Guardians’ certified identification
- -Medical evidence of your condition
- -Fill out and sign the disability form.
- -Foreign applicants must provide their passport ID.
- -SAQA acceptance
- -Permission to study

Certification on successful completion of studies
Students take national exams, which are administered by the TVET.
Successful students will achieve the following:
- National Certificate: Popular Music and Studio Work (N4)
- National Certificate: Popular Music and Studio Work (N5)
- National Certificate: Popular Music and Studio Work (N6)
- NQF Level 6 National Diploma in Popular Music and Studio Work (awarded upon completion of N4-N6 and 18 months of applicable work-based training) *
Students who have successfully completed all three N4 – N6 national certificates and have worked for 18 months or 2000 hours in a sound recording / sound engineering setting will be eligible for the highly regarded National N Diploma in Popular Music: Studio Work.
