Unisa TVET College 2024-2025

The Unisa TVET College has partnered with several Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to offer instruction for various qualifications, with a focus on higher certifications.

Thanks to recent approval from the Minister of Higher Education and Training, a few Unisa courses will now be taught at TVET Colleges. Scroll down to see what courses will be available.

The Minister of Higher Education and Training recently granted permission for the following TVET Colleges to offer a few Unisa courses:

College of Cape Town
East Cape Midlands College
Ekurhuleni East College
Elangeni College
False Bay College
Gert Sibande College
Letaba College
NorthLink College
Umfolozi College
Port Elizabeth College
West Coast College
Western College
South Cape College

Five courses have been approved for teaching at these colleges, including a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences, a Higher Certificate in Banking, a Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences, a Higher Certificate in Tourism Management, and a Higher Certificate in Adult Basic Education and Training.

The goal of pursuing a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences is to prepare students to perform basic accounting science tasks under supervision, such as costing, tax calculations, auditing, and internal auditing. This certificate will be taught at Elangeni TVET College, Gert Sibande College, Port Elizabeth College, and Western College.

The Higher Certificate in Banking introduces students to the banking industry and provides them with a foundational understanding of bank management theory and principles. After graduation, the student will be prepared to work in entry-level positions in the financial services industry. This certification will be available at East Cape Midlands College, False Bay College, Gert Sibande College, Letaba College, NorthLink College, Port Elizabeth College, and Western College.

The Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences program is intended to introduce students to the fundamental ideas and concepts of accounting, business management, and economics. Students’ fundamental English skills, numeracy skills, and computer literacy will all be enhanced. This qualification will be available to students at West Coast College, Umfolozi College, and Elangeni TVET College.

The Higher Certificate in Tourism Management will be available at the College of Cape Town, East Cape Midlands College, Ekurhuleni East College, Elangeni TVET College, and Umfolozi College.

The Higher Certificate in Adult Basic Education and Training can be articulated as a Diploma in Adult Basic Education and Training. This qualification will be taught at both South Cape College and Elangeni TVET College.
