Univen On and Off Campus Residences
Univen provides student housing. Our residences are spread across the campus of the University of Venda and the Thohoyandou neighborhood.
Before the deadline, applicants must apply online for admission to a University residence.
By signing the application for admission, a student agrees to follow the rules and regulations that apply to residential students at the University of Venda, as well as the disciplinary action that the University will take in cases of violation of these regulations.
The University reserves the right to refuse admission to any student for any reason.

Rules and Regulations
Allocation of Rooms
- Residence authorities assign rooms with the help of House Representative Committee members. If you have been assigned a double room, you are free to choose your roommate during the room allocation process. It is not permitted to change rooms without the knowledge and consent of the residence authorities.
Room Keys
- The University retains ownership of the room keys.
When the University is closed for vacation, students are required to return their room keys to the Residence Supervisor. - Students who are forced to discontinue their studies or who wish to leave the residence on their own must return the room keys to the Superintendent.
- A resident student who loses or misplaces a residence room key or fails to return it to the Superintendent at the end of the academic year or at any time if required will have his/her results withheld or will be required to pay for the cost of lock replacement.
