  • Student housing provides a home away from home in which to study in a supportive environment. Residences are intended to foster a positive learning environment in which students from various backgrounds can interact and exercise their basic rights.

UniZulu Residence for Students

  • Student housing is a home away from home that fosters a supportive environment for learning. Residences are intended to foster a positive learning environment in which students from various backgrounds can interact and exercise their fundamental rights.

Significant notes

Take note of the following

  • Each student will sign a declaration agreeing to abide by the resident rules. Housing in university residences is a privilege rather than a right; regardless of when they move in, residents are financially responsible for paying for a full term’s worth of housing.
  • Residents are also expected to occupy the rooms assigned to them, or else the space will be offered to another eligible student.

How to Apply for a Residence at UniZulu
Students must complete a form as part of the UniZulu housing application.

Accommodation cancellation

  • It is discouraged to cancel accommodations retroactively; all cancellations must be made in writing and delivered to the appropriate warden.

Visitors

Residents who invite visitors should keep the following in mind:

  • Visitors are not permitted to enter the residences.
  • Residents must obtain permission from their homes or security personnel if they have visitors.
  • Residents who are discovered assisting visitors in entering the dwellings will be charged accordingly.
  • It is a serious crime to cause damage to university property.
  • Residents are warned not to commit vandalism because they will be charged for any repairs or replacements that are required.
  • Residents must report any breaks to the sub-warden or a member of the house committee.
