Vista University was established in 1981 by South Africa’s apartheid government to ensure that urban black South Africans pursuing university education may do so in townships rather than on campuses designated for other population groups.

CAMPUSES

Bloemfontein, Daveyton (East Rand), Mamelodi, Port Elizabeth, Sebokeng, Soweto, and Welkom were the locations of its campuses. Pretoria served as the home of the administrative headquarters and the VUDEC Distance Education Campus.
