College of Western TVET admission requirements for TVET colleges

NC(V) Course Standards;

Students may study for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 for a total of four years, taking into account potential subject failures.

  • NQF1, which is equivalent to Grade 9 and AET Level 4, is the minimum admission criterion.
  • The NC (V) policy served as a guideline and reference point for the entry requirements. A point system will be used for qualification admission.

Standards for 191 Courses;

  • NATED Policy dictates the minimum admission requirements. Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be completed by N4 students.
  • Prerequisites for Occupational Courses: Students with completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who want to pursue an artisan vocation will be admitted to N1 based on a point system.
  • Minimum entry requirements for registered skills programs and apprenticeships approved by QCTO/SETA
  • A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Reports 191 programs will be considered only if they are currently enrolled.

Additional Entry Requirements

  • To improve the effectiveness and quality of specialized programs, the College Council has established additional admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4.
