  • This is to inform all candidates that the late online application form for Western TVET College for the 2023 academic year has been released. As a result, all interested applicants should apply as soon as possible.
    The Department of Higher Education and Training oversees Westcol Technical and Vocational Education and Training College, a public institution.   • According to the act, Western College (Westcol) is one of 50 public TVET colleges that comprise the Department of Higher Education and Training. The CET Act is a piece of legislation that has been passed.
    Western TVET College’s mission is to provide students with high-quality education and training that will benefit both them and their community. In addition to public adult learning centers, they offer a variety of courses for students who want to complete AET levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. (NQF Level 1). Western TVET Institute Admission Requirements for TVET Colleges

NC(V) Course Requirements

  • Students may study for up to four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4, taking into account possible subject failures.
  • NQF1 (Grade 9) and AET Level 4 are the minimum entry criteria.
    The NC (V) policy has set the standard for entry requirements. A point system will be used for qualification admission.

Report 191 Courses Standards;

  • Minimum admission requirements in accordance with NATED Policy. N4 students will have completed Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4.
  • Occupational Course Prerequisites: Students who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 and wish to pursue an artisan vocation will be admitted to N1 on the basis of a point system.
  • Minimum entry requirements for QCTO/SETA-approved registered skills programs and apprenticeships
  • A student who has previously enrolled in NC(V) or Reports 191 programs will only be considered if they have completed the NC(V) or Report 191 program successfully (passed all subjects)

Additional Entry Requirements

  • The College Council has established additional admission requirements for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1, and Report 191 N4 to increase the effectiveness and quality of specialized programs.

  • Submit paperwork; you will be notified via email of your progress.
  • Please read the minimum requirements before applying.
  • Westcol reserves the right to cancel or relocate a program if there is insufficient student enrollment. We will contact you via email, so you must have an active email account.
  • To avoid missing any contact, you must constantly check your email.
  • All documents must be certified originals, and the certification cannot be more than 6 months old.
  • Please scan and save the following documents in PDF format:
  • Certificate from Grade 12/results statement/most recent school report/DHET certificate ID document
  • Proof of residency

  • All first-time applicants must complete the PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT completely. This is NOT a pass/fail examination.
  • If you provide incorrect information, your application may be rejected.
