Mynsfas Account Create 2024-2025

MyNSFAS Account Creation for 2024-2025: NSFAS, the government’s student financial aid scheme, provides support to financially disadvantaged undergraduate students in South Africa to help cover their tertiary education expenses. To receive your monthly funds, it’s essential to create an account with them. This process is straightforward; firstly, you’ll need to determine if you meet the funding criteria and gather all the necessary documents.

Who Qualifies For NSFAS Funding?
  • All individuals holding South African citizenship are eligible.
  • Qualification for funding is extended to all SASSA grant recipients.
  • Applicants with a combined annual household income not exceeding R350,000 are eligible.
  • Individuals with a disability can qualify, provided their combined household income does not exceed R600,000 per annum.
  • Students who commenced their studies prior to 2018 and have a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum are eligible.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS NEEDED WHEN CREATING MY NSFAS ACCOUNT

  • Please supply your personal cellphone number and email address.
  • You must possess a copy of your ID or birth certificate.
  • Include national ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
  • Provide evidence of your income or one year’s IRP5 if required.
  • Submit proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  • If you are a SASSA grant recipient, there is no need to provide any income documentation.
  • All applicants with disabilities should furnish and submit a fully completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
  • Applicants recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should also provide a fully completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How To Create Mynsfas Account

Register online as a user on myNSFAS or re-register a myNSFAS account

  • Go to www.nsfas.org.za
  • Click on “myNSFAS” tab
  • Click on “Register
  • Tick the box to allow NSFAS to verify your details
  • Then enter your ID number on the field as it is stated on your South African Identity Document (ID)
  • Type in your full names and surname as per your ID number
  • Type in your current email address
  • Confirm your email address
  • Type in your cellphone number
  • Create a password
  • Confirm password
  • Upload your ID Copy
  • Click on register
  • An OTP will be sent to the email and cell number provided (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
  • Type in the OTP and click submit
  • You have now completed your re-registration
