Financial assistance

Before enrolling as a student, you must determine whether you will have enough funds to finance your studies. In addition to the course/module fees, you should budget for books, equipment, transportation, lodging, and general living expenses.
Bursaries, merit awards, scholarships, and study loans are available to full-time students at Nelson Mandela University (see downloadable documents below). Financial needs, as well as academic excellence and athletic achievements, determine eligibility. These awards will not always cover all costs, and they will not be given to all candidates who apply. Nelson Mandela University also provides financial assistance to financially needy students in collaboration with the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
