NSFAS Online Application Opening Date 2024-2025: The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr. Blade Nzimande, and the Chairperson of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, Mr. Ernest Khosa, have officially announced the application date for 2024. The NSFAS application for student funding for the 2024-2025 academic year will be accessible from November 2nd to January 7th, 2024. It is strongly recommended to apply promptly after becoming aware of the opening date for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) online application.

Necessary Supporting Documents for Completing the NSFAS Online Application:

Personal cellphone number and email address.
A copy of your ID or birth certificate.
National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse.
Evidence of your income or a 1-year IRP5 statement if applicable.
Proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
SASSA grant recipients are not required to provide income documentation.
Applicants with disabilities should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
Applicants recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
Update your personal information
Answer the questions you see on the screen
Upload all the required supporting documents
Finally, you click on ‘submit

Who qualifies for NSFAS funding?

All South African citizens
All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
