TUT NSFAS Application 2024-2025: Does NSFAS fund students enrolled at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)? Yes, indeed. NSFAS provides support to students from all 26 public universities in South Africa, including TUT. NSFAS, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, aims to financially assist economically disadvantaged students or parents. To access NSFAS funding, applicants must complete the NSFAS Application Online Form for the 2024–2025 academic year. Who qualifies for the TUT NSFAS application?

  • All South African citizens
  • All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum
  • Individuals with a disability: Combined household income must not exceed R600,000 per annum
  • Students who commenced studies before 2018, with a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum.

Documents required during the application process:

  • Provide your cellphone number and email address
  • A copy of your ID or birth certificate
  • National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
  • Evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  • Proof of income for parents, guardian, or spouse.
  • SASSA grant recipients do not need to provide evidence of income.
  • Applicants with a disability should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
  • An applicant known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

  • Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za
  • Click on the “myNSFAS” tab
  • Create your myNSFAS account
  • Click on the “Apply” tab after creating your myNSFAS account
  • Answer the questions on your screen
  • Update all your personal information
  • Upload the required supporting documents
  • Click on “Submit” to send your application for review.

Who should not apply?

  • Students who have completed a previous qualification.
  • Students with a combined household income of more than R350,000 per annum.
  • Students who have already applied, qualified, and received funding. They are automatically funded for the duration of their studies, provided they pass their modules and meet the academic requirements.
  • Foreign students (any student who is not a South African citizen).
