Who Is Eligible to Apply for NSFAS Funding?

• South African citizens
• SASSA grant recipients
• Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum
• Individuals with a disability whose combined household income does not exceed R600,000 per annum
• Students who commenced their studies before 2018 with a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum.

Supporting Documents Required for Completing the NSFAS Online Application:

• Personal cellphone number and email address
• Copy of your ID or birth certificate
• National ID copies of parents, guardians, or spouse
• Proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 if applicable
• Evidence of the income of your parents, guardian, or spouse
• SASSA grant recipients are exempt from providing income evidence
• Applicants with disabilities must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
• Those identified as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development must also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form
