Unisa NSFAS Status 2024-2025: If you are a student at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and have applied for NSFAS aid, you may be eager to check the status of your application. The application period for NSFAS aid typically closes on November 30th each year, and applicants can expect a response to their applications a few days after the deadline. However, if you haven’t received any communication from NSFAS regarding your application, it’s advisable to conduct your own inquiry. To check your NSFAS Application Status, visit or log into your myNSFAS Account using your ID and the password you created during your application. Here are the steps to check your application status:

How to View/Check UNISA NSFAS Application Status:

  • Log into your myNSFAS account portal.
  • Enter your ID or username and password.
  • Click the “SIGN IN!” button.
  • Once logged into your account dashboard, click on “Track Funding Progress” to check your application status.
  • If your application has been successful, congratulations! If not, better luck next time.

Documents Needed During My NSFAS Registration Process:

  • Provide your personal cellphone number and email address.
  • Ensure you have a copy of your ID or birth certificate.
  • Include national ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse.
  • Submit evidence of your income or your 1-year’s IRP5 if required.
  • Provide proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  • If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you do not need to provide income evidence.
  • All applicants with a disability should complete and submit a signed Disability Annexure A Form.
  • An applicant recognized as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also complete and submit a signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for UNISA NSFAS Online Application:

  • Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za online.
  • Click on the “myNSFAS” tab.
  • Create your myNSFAS account.
  • Click on the “Apply” tab.
  • Answer the questions displayed on your screen.
  • Update all your personal information.
  • Upload all the required supporting documents.
  • Click “Submit” to send your application for review

Your NSFAS application will not be considered if you

  • already had NSFAS funding in 2023.
  • have already completed an undergraduate degree/diploma.
  • are not a South African citizen.
  • need funding for a short learning certificate or program.
  • need funding for a postgraduate qualification, with an exception of the following qualifications:
    • BTech – Architecture / Architectural Technology
    • BTech – Engineering (all disciplines), Cartography, Forestry
    • BTech – Biokinetics, Biomedical Technology, Biotechnology
    • BTech – Chiropractic, Homoeopathy, all Nursing
    • BTech – Clinical or Dental Technology, Emergency Medical Care
    • Postgraduate Certificate in Education
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
    • LLB
