SELECTING A CAREER
What information do you require?

Personal information such as interests, personality, values, abilities and strengths, and so on.
Environmental information…employment market, career information, education and training institutions, job opportunities, etc.

Where can you go for help?

Our fully certified career counselors would gladly assist you! Make an appointment for an assessment at your nearest campus or the Career Development Centre. A PACE test will be administered to assess your numeracy and literacy abilities. An interest evaluation will also be performed, revealing your abilities, strengths, and so on. Following the examination, you will be booked for a personal interview.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE INTERVIEW?

After reviewing your school grades, numeracy and literacy levels, and hobbies, one of our career counseling practitioners will recommend the best career for you to pursue your goals. Feel free to discuss your personal vision, anxieties, or questions during this session to ensure you make the best job choice.

FINAL SELECTION AND CONFIRMATION THAT ALL REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN MET

You should now be able to make an informed decision about your future career based on the information you have gathered. You will also be notified whether you meet the prerequisites for your desired location and advised on admission to the institution. If you are qualified for the chosen career, you will be directed through the registration process.

WILL YOU BE ELIGIBLE FOR FREE REGISTRATION?

To be considered for free registration, please submit the following documents:

SAPS certified copy of Student Identity Document/Birth Certificate
SAPS certified copy(ies) of Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) Identity Document
SAPS certified copy(ies) of parent(s)/guardian(s) death certificate if they are deceased
Proof of income: social grant slip/ recent salary slip/ recent bank statement
Student’s residential address;
Number of family members in the household;
Number of students in the household (only University and College students – Provide proof of University students)
Accommodation amount per month (in the case of private boarders)
Transport amount every month: this should be documented in an affidavit.
All certified copies must be no more than three months old.If you are eligible for free registration, you will be provided with a printout as proof.
THIS PROOF DOES NOT ENSURE THAT ANY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A BURSARY.

HOW DO YOU REGISTER?
If you are eligible for free registration, please fill out the following form:

Bring your application form and the screening results printed to the registration office.

If you are not eligible for free registration:

Pay the registration cost at your local Standard Bank (bank details can be obtained from the registration form).
Deliver your application form, screening results, and payment proof to the registration office.
If you are under the age of 21, you must be accompanied to the registration office by a parent or guardian. He or she must bring identification with him or her and sign the application form.
