International Students at UWC Thank you for visiting. International students may require assistance from the UWC Foreign Student Services Office (ISSO), a specialized division of the Student Administration, during various stages of their enrollment at UWC.

We appreciate your decision to collaborate with UWC as a development partner in pursuit of your academic goals. We are privileged to welcome students from diverse programs, representing a broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds.

International students encompass individuals without a South African Identity Document, whose nationality is foreign (outside of Africa), those from SADAC countries (within Africa), refugees, or holders of Section 24 Asylum Permits.

Due to their unique academic requirements in South Africa, international students need specialized assistance. The International Student Services Office (ISSO), a dedicated division of Student Administration, strives to support international students at different points in their academic journeys at UWC. The institution’s mission is to foster global perspectives among its faculty, staff, and students, contributing to intellectual life and aiding South Africa’s reintegration into the international community—an objective that ISSO actively supports (UWC Mission Statement, 1997).

Application Process for International Students:

Check the ADMISSION section to see if you meet the requirements for the academic program you’d like to enroll in as your first step.
To request an exemption from Universities South Africa (USAf) or a South African Qualifications Authority evaluation of your foreign credentials, go to the Examination area in step two (SAQA).
STEP 3: Go to the APPLICATIONS section below to submit an online application to UWC.
STEP 4: Go to the IMMIGRATION section below and review the information for requesting a visa or renewing one that has already been granted.
Step 5 entails finishing the pre-registration clearance process, registering in the REGISTRATION section below.
Read the section below on ARRIVALS in step six, then get organized to relocate to Cape Town.
