Here is the Mpumalanga College of Nursing  Admission Requirements:

For entry into the NVC at NQF Level 2, you require:

  •  A year-end report for Grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 or an
  •  An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • An approved bridging program designed for the specific purpose of accessing  NQF Level 2, or
  • A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.

MPUMALANGA INSTITUTE OF NURSING GENERAL NOTES

For admission to higher certificate or diploma programs and candidates’ educational certificates, prospective students must meet the statutory minimum requirements based on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent school leaving certificate.

  • Levels and symbols obtained during the June/September exams for Grade 12 or confirmation that the current employer is processing study leave will be used to determine provisional admission. However, the final decision regarding enrollment at Mpumalanga Institute of Nursing will be based on the applicant’s final Grade 12 grades, confirmation that the applicant has been granted study leave by the employer and a determination that the applicant has not yet reached the pensionable age, which is 55 to 60 for all college programs.
    For each program, there are specific requirements. The Admission Point System, or APS, is used to assign points to your NSC or equivalent subjects:

For example, to register for a Basic Diploma you need an APS of at least 18 with an NSC/equivalent pass of Biology/Life Science at Level 4 or D Symbol and English at Level 3 or E Symbol Aggregate:

Applicants have to meet the requirements for admission into the Diploma as she is above 18 points

  • Due to the South African Nursing Council’s accreditation capacity, each program has a cap on the number of students it can admit. Even if you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t automatically be accepted into the program or registered. Tests and interviews will be required of candidates in order to further screen them.
    Candidates who have post-matriculant experience or a certificate related to health will be registered according to the quota for that group, which is as follows:
    Scholars: 50% of candidates who hold a certificate from pre-NSC Grade 12: 20% of candidates who have post-matric experience or a certificate related to health: 10% of Active Duty Officers: 20% Please be aware that the college’s admission requirements are subject to change, and
    will make significant investments in nurses for ECDoH facilities;
    will not invest in candidates who have tried other options, such as dropped out of universities, technical schools, or colleges;
    will not make investments in candidates who possess additional qualifications. The candidate will be disqualified in the event that this is discovered at any stage during the process.

While candidates may apply for or plan to take nursing courses at Mpumalanga College of Nursing, they may not be aware of the college’s fee structure at the time, and they may not be able to make arrangements before the fee submission deadline. Because some of the candidates may wish to apply for loans, they must arrange the admission fee and annual fee within the due dates. Candidates can plan their admission accordingly once they are familiar with Mpumalanga College of Nursing’s fee structure.

When a student is accepted into a medical program, they are required to pay a set amount of money known as the Mpumalanga College of Nursing Acceptance Fees. Fees for acceptance are non-refundable.
