The National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX, is a test used to determine whether nursing students who have recently graduated are safe to practice.

What is NCLEX?

  • An exam called the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is used to see if nursing students who recently graduated are safe to practice. NCLEX International Test Centers around the world offer this exam in person.
  • To legally practice nursing in the United States, graduates of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program must pass the NCLEX-RN.
  • The NCLEX-PN (practical nurse) exam is required of graduates of a licensed practical nursing (LPN) or licensed vocational nursing (LVN) program.
  • Using information that students learned in their registered nursing or vocational nursing schools, the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN tests students’ critical thinking skills. The objective of the NCLEX is to ensure that nursing graduates are capable of providing safe patient care and making good judgments. WorldWide HealthStaff Solutions is currently looking for RNs who have successfully completed the NCLEX-RN exam to fill direct hire nursing positions in the United States.
  • Candidates for the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN must have completed accredited ADN or BSN programs. Candidates for the NCLEX-PN must have completed accredited LVN programs.

The Premier Licensure Exam

In keeping with current entry-level practice, the NCSBN is committed to the creation of psychometrically sound and legally enforceable nurse licensure and certification examinations. The NCLEX, the most prestigious licensure test in the world, is administered using computerized adaptive testing (CAT) technology, ensuring a valid and trustworthy assessment of nursing competence.

What is the NCLEX’s length?

  • When the program determines that the test-takers will pass with 95% certainty of competence, they will no longer receive questions. Between two and five hours are possible for the exam. A more drawn out test may not be guaranteed to imply that the up-and-comer won’t pass.
