Established in 2002, Northlink College emerged from the consolidation of four colleges in the northern suburbs of the greater Cape Town Metropole: Wingfield Technical College (with campuses in Wingfield, Goodwood, and Table Bay), Tygerberg College (situated in Tygerberg and Parow), Protea College, and Bellville Technical College. In 2005, Northlink expanded its educational reach by acquiring Belhar College, a private institution.
The college’s name, “Northlink,” is a fusion of “north,” indicating its geographical location in Cape Town, and “link,” representing the initial connection of the former colleges. Crucially, it underscores the essential connection between school education and the professional workplace.

How to Apply
GET Certificate / ABET Level 4 Certificate / N1 / A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the requirements for access
- 3 certified copies of ID of Learner
- 3 certified copies of ID of Parent/Legal Guardian
- One ID size photo
Applicants will be subjected to a placement test before applying to the program of their choice. Every year, the placement test is held in September, and students must book in advance to take the test.
