NSFAS Application 2024-2025: The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is dedicated to providing financial support to students. To access your NSFAS funding status, it is imperative to complete an online application. This year’s application window for NSFAS spans four months, starting from August 3 and concluding on November 30. Late applications will not be considered, so applicants are strongly encouraged to apply within the designated timeframe to ensure their applications are not rejected by NSFAS authorities.
Who is eligible for NSFAS funding?
- South African citizens
- Recipients of SASSA grants
- Applicants with a combined household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum
- Individuals with disabilities, provided the combined household income is below R600,000 per annum
- Students who commenced their studies before 2018, with a household income not exceeding R122,000 per annum
Required documents for the application process
To facilitate the processing of your NSFAS application, you must provide the following supporting documents:
- Your personal cellphone number and email address
- A copy of your ID or birth certificate
- National ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse
- Proof of income or a year’s worth of IRP5, if applicable
- Evidence of your parents’, guardian’s, or spouse’s income
- SASSA grant recipients do not need to provide income documentation
- Applicants with disabilities should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
- Those identified as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
How to Apply for NSFAS Online Application
You can fill out the NSFAS Online Application for 2024 on your computer, iPad, or any other smartphone. Make sure you have all of your supporting documentation and that you are eligible to apply before applying online. Continue the online application procedure if you meet the NSFAS Application criteria for 2024. Follow the steps below to get started:
- Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
- Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
- Update your personal information
- Answer the questions you see on the screen
- Upload all the required supporting documents
- Finally, you click on ‘submit
How to Check NSFAS Application Status
In order to check NSFAS Application Status, you must follow the simple steps below:
- Visit NSFAS Status website: www.nsfas.org.za
- Then, log in to myNSFAS account, if you don’t have one, create one. Click HERE
- Enter your User ID
- Type in the password you created during the application process.
- Click “Track Funding Progress” to check your NSFAS Application Status.
