Nsfas Bursary Closing Date 2024-2025

NSFAS Bursary Application Deadline for 2024-2025: The closing date for submitting applications and all requisite supporting documents is January 7, 2024, for both current university and TVET college students as well as first-time applicants seeking NSFAS financial aid for the academic year. There will be no provision for late applications this academic year. The NSFAS Bursary Portal is scheduled to close on the same date at 11:59 PM.

Compulsory Supporting Documents for the Application Process:

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) requires specific information and supporting documents to process your application effectively. To ensure the success of your application, you need to provide the following supporting documents:

  • Your personal cellphone number and email address.
  • A copy of your ID or birth certificate for verification.
  • National ID copies of your parents, guardians, or spouse, where applicable.
  • Evidence of your income or your 1-year IRP5 if necessary.
  • Proof of income for your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  • If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no evidence of income is required.
  • Applicants with disabilities should submit a fully completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
  • Individuals recognized as Vulnerable Children by the Department of Social Development should provide a fully completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

How to Apply for an NSFAS Online Bursary:

You can complete the NSFAS Online Application for 2024 using your computer, iPad, or any other smartphone. Ensure that you have all the necessary supporting documentation and meet the eligibility criteria before applying online. If you meet the NSFAS Application criteria for 2024, continue with the online application process. Follow the steps below to get started:

  • Visit the NSFAS Application website: www.nsfas.org.za
  • Then, you click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
  • Create a myNSFAS account. If you don’t know how to create, click HERE
  • Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab
  • Update your personal information
  • Answer the questions you see on the screen
  • Upload all the required supporting documents
  • Finally, you click on ‘submit

Who qualifies for NSFAS funding?

  • All South African citizens
  • All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
  • Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
  • A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
  • Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
