- As a part-time course of study, a Short Course typically consists of three modules that can be completed in one year. You could be eligible to move on to one of our degree programs if you are successful in completing the program, which will earn you 60 points on the CATs at Level 3.
The Short Courses in Health Studies are designed to get you ready for the changes and challenges that come with providing health care in the independent and health service sectors. Each Short Course’s practice-focused modules help you learn new clinical knowledge and skills that are relevant to your practice. You will also have the chance to learn more about health care and improve your analytical and academic skills.
An experienced practitioner in the student’s clinical area will be required to provide support and supervision whenever a clinical skills component is included.
Please be aware that courses require a minimum number of registrations, making it typically impossible to offer all courses annually.
Duration
- The Short Courses in Health Studies can typically be completed in two semesters with three hours of contact time per module for each 12 week semester.
Entry Requirements
Usually, candidates must have a professional qualification. Note: A few modules require a particular expert capability.
- For admission to Level 3 (degree level) study, applicants must have at least a Diploma in Higher Education or 120 CAT points at the diploma level. Contact the School for guidance from applicants who do not meet the entry requirements.
