What Qualifications Do I Need to Become a Nurse?
To become a nurse, you must possess a number of credentials. The first is a nursing degree from college.
Prerequisites to Attending Nursing School
A nursing degree is necessary for any position in the nursing field. First and foremost, you must possess a high school diploma or GED. There may be prerequisites for entering nursing school, depending on the degree program you choose.
- Anatomy, nutrition, physiology, and possibly developmental psychology are some of the common prerequisites for an Associate’s degree program.
- Leadership, nursing research, and public health may be required courses in a bachelor’s program.
Students seeking an advanced nursing degree may be required to submit a written personal statement, references, and resume. - Your grades may play a significant role in whether you are accepted into the nursing program if there is a lot of competition.
When it comes to the inside workings of a typical hospital, a certified nurse is just as crucial a healthcare professional as a qualified doctor may be.
Nursing may be an appropriate career choice for someone who wants the chance to put others’ needs ahead of their own and prioritize selflessness.
