sassa existing application 2024-2025
A new regulation was used to distribute the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grants (SRD) R350 grant after the President lifted the State of Emergency. To continue receiving the grant, beneficiaries are required to update their information every three months.
Beneficiaries of SRD had to reapply in order to meet the new requirements, which required them to meet a monthly threshold of R350.
There is a procedure in place at the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) that will assist the Agency in determining whether or not to continue distributing the SRD grant to beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries are required to resubmit their prior R350 grant application in order for Sassa to be able to accomplish this.
To confirm your existing R350 grant application, follow these steps:
- Click on the SRD website
- Scroll down to “Reconfirm your grant application”
- Click the “click here to reconfirm your existing application” yellow bar.
- Insert ID number
- Insert mobile number
- Click send SMS
- You will receive a One-Time Pin (OTP) via SMS
- Insert Pin
- Click on verify pin
- Then, complete the procedure by completing each step.
At least once every three months, applicants for the SRD R350 grant are required to resubmit their applications to Sassa.
Following this, the Agency will be informed that applicants still require and are eligible for the SRD grant in accordance with the new regulations.
Existing applicants are also said to be able to update their responses to a screening questionnaire that can be found on the SRD website at any time to correct errors or if their circumstances change.
