Applications that are received after the deadlines are rejected. Candidates who wish to study at the University of Cape Town (UCT) must ensure that all supporting documentation is uploaded and submitted as soon as possible before the deadlines. The following are the application deadlines:

• Admissions for all undergraduate programs in 2023/2024 are now closed.

Applications for all undergraduate programs will open on April 1, 2023, and close on July 31, 2023. They do not accept applications that are submitted after the deadline. Applications for student housing are due on the same day.
15 November 2022: To complete all international applications in order to allow enough time for visa applications.
30 November 2022: Deadline for international applicants to receive an admission offer. This is required to allow enough time to obtain a study visa.

How to Apply Online for Admission to the University of Cape Town (UCT)

The University of Cape Town (UCT) will accept applications from both new and returning students in 2024/2025, both online and on paper. The various steps of the online application will be covered. To apply online, follow the instructions below:

• Browser Recommendation (Mozilla Firefox and Chrome)
• Visit the official website @ www.uct.ac.za online if you have strong internet connectivity.
• In the page’s top menu, select “Applicants & Students.”
• Please read the information on this page thoroughly before proceeding.
• Then, from the page’s list of items, select “Prospective students.”
• The page will display a greeting from UCT. Please read the following information before proceeding to the next page.
• Select the “Applications” tab from the top menu on the “Prospective Students” page.
• Using the drop-down list, select “Apply.”
• Choose “Undergraduate or Postgraduate” as your qualification.
• Continue to the next stage after reading the Application instructions. Applicants should not ignore this step.
• Click the “Apply Online” tab located on the “Application Instructions” page’s the left side.
• You will be taken to a page where you can fill out an online application.
• Select your qualification from the list after that (Undergraduate, Postgraduate, etc)
• Read the details and select the year you are applying for.
• To finish the application process, select the “Click here to continue” tab.
• Pay the necessary application fee, which is not refundable.
• Upload the necessary documents in the future. Each of these documents needs to be scanned separately and uploaded. The maximum size of the scanned files is 5MB or 572KB. Files must be in the tiff, pdf, jpg, or gif file types.
• In order to submit your application for review, click the Submission Button.
