The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) is critical because it provides many people with funds to cover their essential expenses during difficult times. The South African Social Security Agency is in charge of administering this grant.

• Sassa R350 grant applications are accepted on a monthly basis. All SRD R350 grant candidates must validate their award requests at least every three months.

Requirements for SRD R350 Grant Applications

For applicants to use while applying, each application has requirements or criteria. The applicants must provide the documentation listed below.

• Must be a citizen of South Africa, a permanent resident, a refugee, an asylum seeker, or possess a special permit
  need to be unemployed
• must not receive any financial support from another source or an alternative source of income.
• must fall within the age range of 18 and 60.

How to apply for SRD grant applications

There are three methods for applicants to employ in the Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) online application process, and they are as follows:

APPLICATION VIA WHATSAPP

• To apply for the SRD grant on WhatsApp, follow the steps outlined below.
• Send a WhatsApp message to 082 046 8553 if you want to apply.
• The applicant should enter personal information as requested by the chat.
• A reference number, an OTP number, and a website link will be provided to the applicant. The applicant must click the link, enter the OTP number, and select “verify.”
• The applicant must supply their last name and ID number.

APPLICATION VIA SRD WEBSITE

The procedures listed below demonstrate how to apply using the SRD website.

• Launch your web browser. Either Mozilla, Opera Mini, Google Chrome, etc.
• Find it by typing https://srd.sassa.gov.za
• The applicant enters their mobile number and ID, then clicks the send SMS button.
• A 6-digit OTP will be provided to the applicant.
• The applicant must enter the OTP number and select the pin to verify.
• Please proceed to Step 2: ACKNOWLEDGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

APPLICATION VIA SASSA CHATBOT

  The applicant enters their mobile number and ID, then clicks the send SMS button.
  A 6-digit OTP will be provided to the applicant.
  The applicant must enter the OTP number and select the pin to validate.

How to verify the status of a Sassa SRD application

If applicants have not heard anything about their submitted applications, they can check the status of their applications below. Please follow the instructions below.

• Step 1: Visit the website for the SASSA SRD grant.
• Step 2: Go to “Application status” by scrolling down.
• 3. Select “Click here to check online.”
• Step 4: Complete the necessary fields.
• Step 5 will allow you to view the status of your R350 grant application.

Following are the instructions for completing your reapplication at SASSA.

• Please go to srd.sassa.gov.za to access the SASSA website.
• Following the “Reconfirm your grant application” button
• Use your South African ID number and mobile number to sign in.
• Update your information
• Send in the application again
• NOTE: All SRD R350 grants need to be reconfirmed or reapplied for at least once every three months, applicants should be aware.
