The FET Colleges Act no 16 of 2006, as modified, governs Ekurhuleni West Technical, Vocational, Education and Training College (EWC), a public institution. It was created in accordance with the Further Education and Training Act, Act No. 98 of 1998, which was announced as such by the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education (Gauteng Province) in accordance with an Extraordinary Provincial Gazette (dated 7 December 2001).

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality in the South African province of Gauteng is home to the Ekurhuleni West TVET College. The six (6) campuses that makeup EWC are located in the following communities: Alberton, Boksburg, Germiston, Kathorus (in Katlehong, Vosloorus, and Thokoza), Kempton (in Kempton Park), and Tembisa.

FROM PRETORIA

  • Take the R21 towards OR Tambo Airport.
  • Follow the R24 Johannesburg.
  • At Gillooly’s Interchange, follow the Durban N3.
  • Take the Germiston M2 off-ramp.
  • At the T-junction turn left (Albany Bakery).
  • Proceed straight to a three-way stop (on top of the train bridge).
  • Turn right and proceed to the traffic circle.
  • Proceed for 270° around the traffic circle into Driehoek Road.
  • Follow the road for 900m until you reach a Stop sign.
  • 100m after the STOP sign, turn right into Germiston Campus.

FROM KEMPTON PARK/ O R TAMBO (JHB) INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

  • Take the R24 toward Johannesburg.
  • Keep left at Gillooly’s interchange, onto the N3 to Durban.
  • Take the Germiston (M2) off-ramp.
  • Same as highlighted

FROM JOHANNESBURG

  • Take the M2 East towards Germiston.
  • Same as highlighted
