Rules:
- Students must submit their Annual Practising Certificate (issued by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) or Nursing Authority in the relevant country) with each registration for the BA (CUR), indicating registration as a general nurse and a midwife. Students who are not registered as midwives may only enroll in the BA (CUR)-HHS program. This qualification is not open to registered nurses or auxiliary nurses. ENN103F has been replaced by ENG1503, and students who have already completed ENN103F are not permitted to register for ENG1503.
Purpose statement:
- The goal of this qualification is to assist students in gaining the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to: solve problems in a professional communication context by working in a team and individually, managing administration, including financial administration, providing organizational support in a communications environment, and exercise ethical conduct, values, and professionalism when dealing with clients. As a result, qualified students can contribute to effective organizational communication as well as the quality of communication in the public and private spheres. This qualification will be presented via distance learning mode.

If it is discovered that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification, Unisa reserves the right to not process and/or cancel your registration. Acceptance of the alternative qualification is not guaranteed. It will depend on whether you meet the admission requirements and whether there is enough space.
Students who are re-registering may register for the 2024 academic year once the registration period opens.

How to choose your modules
Each Unisa qualification is designed so that you must pass a certain number of modules and NQF-level credits within a certain time frame in order to graduate. You must pass a certain number of credits/modules each year in order to re-register and continue with your qualification:
- At least 36 NQF credits (3 modules of 12 credits each) in your first year of study.
- At least 48 NQF credits (4 modules of 12 credits each) in your second or further years of study.
You are not permitted to register for more than the maximum number of credits/modules per semester:
- At least 60 NQF credits (5 modules of 12 credits each) in a semester.
- For year modules, at least 120 NQF credits (10 modules of 12 credits each) are required per year.
The maximum number of credits does not include supplementary and/or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count toward the maximum number of credits allowed.
You must take your available time into consideration when choosing your modules, as this will impact your academic performance. You need approximately
- 6 to 8 hours per week for semester modules.
- 4 to 6 hours per week for year modules.
