Prospective If they fit one of the following criteria, UNISA students can apply to study at the institution toward an undergraduate degree:

• applying for the first time at UNISA
• Students currently enrolled in UNISA who want to switch to a new qualification
• Previous UNISA applicants who were unsuccessful
• Those who were chosen but were unable to sign up for their qualifying
• Students seeking to apply for an undergraduate degree who have finished or are continuing a lesser qualification (Higher Certificate, Alternative Pathway, or Extended Programme).

Furthermore, prospective students must meet both the entrance standards and the Admission Points Score in order to be eligible to attend UNISA (APS). If you are unsure about your APS, you can learn how to calculate it.

Application to UNISA for Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas

Honors degrees and postgraduate certificates are available for application from September 1 to October 14, 2023.

Prospective students interested in applying to UNISA’s postgraduate or honors programs include:

• students doing their first UNISA application
• Students enrolled at UNISA who want to switch to a new qualification or modify the specialization of their present qualification can do so at this time.
• undergraduate students in their final year who want to pursue a postgraduate degree (except students applying for the Honours in Psychology qualification)
• Those who were chosen but were unable to sign up for their qualifying
• Only online applications will be accepted for the qualifications that applicants choose. Additionally, candidates will have their applications evaluated based on their final undergraduate cumulative grades as well as the entrance requirements of the chosen qualification.

The formal selection and approval procedure, which can take up to three months to complete, is used to evaluate postgraduate applicants.

Application for Masters and Doctoral Studies at UNISA

Dates for applying for master’s and doctoral degrees are 11 September through 14 November 2022.

The following individuals are potential candidates looking to pursue a Master’s or Doctoral degree at UNISA in 2023:

• students doing their first UNISA application
• Students currently enrolled at UNISA who want to apply for a new qualification
• Students in their last year who want to pursue a Masters or Doctoral degree may do so.
• previously enrolled Master and Doctoral students who wished to continue their studies but failed to register for the 2024 academic year.

The university also offers selective degrees that only accept a small number of applications for admission. The appropriate academic institutions determine and oversee the application deadlines for selection degrees.
