University of Pretoria Student Accommodation

The TuksRes Family, also known as the Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation, is a separate business organization that provides services to residence students through a variety of management teams.
With 10,000 students living on campus, the University of Pretoria is proud to be South Africa’s largest residential university.
A broad framework, such as TuksRes, allows one to address the diverse needs of our student sector living in residences.
Please be aware that several of our apartments have new names, which you can find here for your convenience.

About Us

In October 2004, the University of Pretoria Council made the executive decision to combine all residence-related operations into a single business entity. As a result, the Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation (TuksRes) was established to eliminate the many silos that existed across the university.

Please be aware of the following:

It is preferable for students to live on the campus where they will be studying; for example, education students can live on the Groenkloof Campus.
There are just post-graduate dormitories on the Hatfield Campus.
